VHS Evolution



You can see the life cycle of the VCR go from a ginormous box to sleek and sexy consumer friendly just before the asteroid of DVD killed them. We are all made to be thrown away.

Kinda like noticing the third "Maclord" ad with brand names of competitors in the background, nice going Panasonic (National) for being too obvious!

The Mac Lord CMs are my favorites. The VCR is almost as big as the TV it's hooked up to. I bet it weighed as much as the TV, too.

That was back when they made those things to last as far as I know. Our second VCR was a massive RCA model. Didn't have the rotary dials though, but it had a wired remote that only did pause I believe!

And believe me, we lug that baby over to my grandma's house since he was still living in the dinosaur days back then!
