Festival of Family Classics: Jack-O-Lantern (1972)

The horror....the horror.

What's really sad here, for me, is seeing how far Rankin\Bass had fallen. Remember that Mad Monster Party on Monday and how awesomesause that was? Yeah...same studio.

I don't know where the money went, but it wasn't on the screen.

Here's part two, IF YOU DARE.

Wow wow, Thanks for the rare cartoon. I've never seen it.

I'm sure the "Festival of Family Classics" was treated more like a TV budgeted program the way it was put together and they couldn't devote all the money to this specific special alone when they have other episodes to deal with.

Incidentally, two studios involved in this series from what I can find out were Mushi Productions (after Osamu Tezuka pretty much left it to go under) and Topcraft, a new up 'n comer who didn't quite have the chops yet but will certainly go on to show what they've got by the time they did the later Tolkien stories and Last Unicorn for Rankin-Bass, and help a certain director on his tale of a Valley of Wind!

Is this the 2D sequel to Mad Monster Party? Or was that something else?

No, the sequel was "Mad, Mad Mad Monsters" I think.
