The Great Frog (1994)

An 18-rated cinema ad for rock jewellers The Great Frog, in which a plot to steal a ring made by them goes horribly, horribly, HORRIBLY awry. Directed by Keith English at Velvet Pictures, the ad won him a Palme D'or at the Cannes Lions and music composer Robert Neufeld a London International Advertising Award for Best Original Music.

Hammer House of Horror (1980)

Oooooooh, it's Hammer, so you know it's good.

Apparently, in 2003, this show pegged number 50 in the 100 scariest moments, and when Channel 4 aired the list, the clip (at 1:26:05) was the party from "The House that Bled to Death". I've got to say, that scene made me laugh so hard, I had hot chocolate spiked with rum shooting out of my nose (the rum is what hurt).

Nonetheless, it's a good series with some truly creeptastic moments. And you can get it on DVD. Awesomesauce! It's well worth it.

Roobarb and Custard

What I was really looking for was the 1951 film Rhubarb, about a cat who inherits a baseball team. Instead, I found this.



You'll notice these are narrated by Richard Briers, who played Tom Good on Good Neighbors (The Good Life in the UK). He was also the voice of Fiver in Watership Down.

I'd post more, but you can just visit the You Tube channel where I found them, as he has a lot of those, as well as some "Mr. Benn" cartoons.

A Blooming Raymond Briggs Christmas!

First off, the special that needs no special mention, the 1982 magnum opus "The Snowman".

After that, a little exposé with the man himself and his what he does with his time outside the annual sleigh run. "Father Christmas", together with his pets in his flat, vacationing around the world, getting sick and goes to the bathroom like you and me. Just make sure you don't talk about his 'rosy cheeks'!
