Yeah, I hope the new guy doesn't overstay his welcome. Heard though they're bothering to do a movie with him if it's what I think it is that's taking Heino's place now.
From what I'm reading this year's Ohayo seems like it was kind of a train wreck crossed with a county fair. They didn't have the convention center this year? WTF?
Thinking about Hell-related material I'd love to try one day, I often want to relive a show I used to be glued at nearly a quarter-century ago called "Starcade". But the way I want to present it, I randomly pick two guys from the audience and force 'em to play a classic 8-bit game (via MAME or any emulator) and see who gets the highest points in a minute's time to win whatever prize I might have lying around. I just think it's both cute and EVIL for me to force newbies into playing something as mundane as Taito's Zoo Keeper in front of a crowd in humility. Oh well, it's just a suggestion (and if anyone wants to steal it, be my guest).
Danno, I didn't end up judging the Hentai AMV Wars competition. I was actually supposed to provide color commentary, but they only had one mic so I just hung around in the front row cracking wise with the MC. They kept calling me "Grandpa", but we were all in on the joke. I think.
Dave, this year's Ohayocon was not that great. Largely stagnant guest list, personnel goofs causing the loss of prime convention room space no less than 2 weeks before the con (resulting in devastating ripples like panelists not knowing what the schedule was until a week before go-time which led to the inevitable flood of conflicts and missed opportunities), staffers stretched even MORE thin than is usual at cons, and a general feeling of malaise.
I'd like to be all-PC next year, since then I don't have to worry about burning DVDs or file format conversions that don't work. Oh, and I'll try not to have my motherboard go tits-up on December 26th. That'd be a BIG help.

I understand that Rich Lather does a really good Hard Gay impersonation.
Yes, indeed it is Hard Gay. And yes, I can do a pretty decent Hard Gay impersonation...in voice only.
I think that HG is a good replacement for the time being, unless new Heino stuff surfaces. Nothing is ever set in stone here in Anime Hell land.
How did the shows go? I heard you were judging hentai amvs saturday night...

And what's up with the only one DVD playa??
