Cool. First saw that at one of the LarryCons back in the early '80s...always thought it was too short. I think they should've made a sequel where all of Bambi's relatives gathered for revenge - only to get squished by his other foot.

I still think it's effective for what it was.
A similar short film I can think of done in the 80's that had a very similar premise was "Snookles".... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rG2Gpjo5KL4

Funny someone didn't do that.
There were several unauthorized sequels made though. One called "Bambi's Revenge", and another, done in the late 90's called "Son of Bambi Meets Godzilla" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VujzyznQ4eE
Being reminded as well of renting this tape from a Blockbuster once near me. Other stuff on the tape I can faintly remember include several Fleischer cartoons like Betty Boop in "Crazy Town", "Cobweb Hotel" and a stop-motion piece from Ladislas Starevich, "Frogland".
Yeah, a lot of stuff fell into public domain during that time period and the craziest crap would show up in the earliest days of video. You'd go to rent something because of the video cover or a blurb on the back, and the contents on the actual tape would be anything but...
One of the stranger parts of comic book conventions back in the late '70s/early 80's would be the amateur film contests. You'd see some really creative (and, of course a lot of crap) come from some goof and his 8mm camera hoping to be the next George Lucas or whoever. Nothing on the level of "Hardware Wars" or "Porklips Now," but some really funky shit. One I remember seeing was something called "The Lhasa Apso that Ate Houston," where a guy took footage of his pet dog and spliced it together with shots of toy soldiers, tanks, etc. as the dog wrecked all sorts of havoc in Houston/his backyard.

I love those films!
I'm still tracking down a 16mm copy of "The Further Adventures of Super Screw"! Have it on tape otherwise. The kind of thing that is definitely Midnight Madness fuel!
...back when Rhino put out some great VHS tapes...
The photos looks nice and interesting. Thanks for sharing it here. According to me Godzilla is a huge heroic monster which I like most. I am having a huge collection of Godzilla toys of all varieties.
