Free screening of AKIRA (next week)

Here's some copy you should put in your eyes:

Neo-Tokyo is about to E-X-P-L-O-D-E as Funimation Entertainment has partnered with the Alamo Drafthouse Richardson to present special FREE 25th Anniversary screenings of Katsuhiro Otomo’s legendary animated film AKIRA. The R-rated film will be presented in a brand new HD transfer and featuring the 5.1 Dolby Surround dubbing from the 2001 restoration. The screening is Monday, November 25th at 7pm and is FREE; however, a $5 voucher is required to reserve your seat which can be used towards food and drink. Attendees of the screening will also receive a special discount code for 40% off the purchase of the Akira – 25th Anniversary Edition at Funimation.com!

Here's a list of screening locations. It's not just in DFW.

So do I.
Anyway, at Anime North Texas they had a program called Nihon Eiga that showed some weird movies from Japan. Their site is suspended at the moment, but here are some promos I saw there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOciCoxQujI Zebraman 2 with BDSM undertones
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDfMXwRapNc The Happiness of the Katakuris. This is the official promo. The one I saw had a claymation woman eating soup at a restaurant. She puts the spoon in her soup and pulls out some weird alien thingy. She gasps. The thing sees her uvula and falls madly in lust with it. It then crawls into her open mouth and pulls it out, and cuddles it.

Too bad they aren't using the classic English dub for it.

You mean the Harmony Gold dub? "A-Kiiiiiii-Rha..."

How many dubs has there been for AKIRA at this point?

The Happiness of the Katakuris is one of my favorite movies. How many zombie musicals are there as charming that this one?

I guess you could say that (although neither them or Streamline had anything to do with that dub besides having employed the same people on it).

I think only two.
