Anyone ever heard of these guys at www.5minutestolive.com ? They look to me like your typical band of video "tape traders," and by that I mean the kind of "traders" you encounter at sci-fi/fantasy conventions that charge $20 for copies of Battle Royale they made. In fact, these guys ARE charging $20 for copies of Battle Royale they made, but they're also selling--er, I mean, TRADING, yeah that's the ticket--various Hell-related media. While I certainly won't be paying $20 for the Heaven's Gate tape, I did notice that they've got a set of compilations entitled Lost and Found Video Night:

Some of it we've already got (in less than pristine quality), like Shatner doing Rocketman, Turkish Star Wars, Bollywood Don and his exploding briefcase (my copies of this were from DVD!), Der Fuhrer's Face, and so on. But most of it is stuff I've actually never heard of myself (Indonesian Sylvester Stallone sounds like it has promise).
The catch? You guessed it, pricetag. Until January 7th, it's $100 for 7 DVDs, which themselves contain about 10 hours worth of VHS captured footage. Unless of course, you can trade them something they're looking for:

Of course, none of that is stuff I've ever heard of. Still, it's always good to have more goofy footage in (hopefully) playable condition. Perhaps if nobody else has anything to trade with them over, we can split the costs?
In the meantime, I'll bite the bullet and download this MPG of "VD Attack Plan" starring Meatwad as Ignorance. 731 meg MPEG-1? How long IS this thing, an hour?!

I got a few of the LOST AND FOUND VIDEO on VHS and was not impressed. Quality was pretty bad, and just like you I found that I already had alot of the source video that they used and my video was of higher quality. I'd only recommend these videos to somebody who wanted AnimeHELL type clips on one or two DVDs or VHS tapes. Any serious videophile will want better quality...
Don't you already have the Attack Plan VD movie? I know Dan does. I don't know how anybody can justify charging that much for something they don't own, didn't make, and didn't exert any labor on other than pushing a few buttons. A few bucks for blank tape and postage is OK, but anything else is dishonest, and a lame small-potatoes dishonest at that.
Guys like this are one of the reasons I kind of keep a low profile with this stuff, because you could tape a bunch of Hell stuff for somebody, and they turn around and start selling it. It's unethical, and worst of all I DON'T GET A CUT.
Let's see, the last time I checked we'd made about $5 through Amazon Associates from this website. I'll give you your cut next time I see you....
-d!
The great part is that you're promoting films you love, helping others to get these movies and videos, and getting a piece of the action for your trouble. That's how it should be, not finding something on the internet for free and selling it to somebody else.
I mean, jeez, it was bad enough when the video pirates actually had to purchase their own copies of the things; now all they have to do is pay their ISP bill every month. I think the internet's a great thing and I think information should be shared freely, and I also think that copyright holders should be the only people to determine who profits from their work.
I was just re-screening the 3 LOST AND FOUND VIDEO NIGHT tapes I bought from these guys and there's alot of footage from the JAPAN-A-RAMA tapes. And I'm talking large clips here. Poorly edited, too.
I wanted to buy GRILL SKILL but they no longer sell it at 5mtl: http://www.5minutesonline.com/2D/GRILLSKILL.htm
So they take unlicensed footage from Japan-A-Rama, which is itself unlicensed, and use it in their unlicensed compilations?
MAN, these guys are lame. They're fucking lame, is how lame they are.
search on piratebay and download the first 7 volumes. don't pay $100, they aren't that good.
