100 miles of film
Skip over at A/V Geeks wants to digitize over 240 hours of film from his massive collection and put it up on The Internet Archive. Consider sending a few pennies his way. Head over to his IndieGoGo Project and see what it's all about.
Heh. I figure all the money I've already spent on Skip's tapes and DVDs over the years has been a fair amount. But it has been worth it. And the prospect of getting more of Skip's collection digitized just means more fun to be had.
Who cares about the kids in 2050. I'm sure they won't watch old black and white clips anyway.
I'd like to think that there's a couple of kids that are reached. Some kids as yet unborn will discover and love old cartoons and movies. It just feels like more kids would rather see The Dark Knight Rises then Fleischer Bros Superman.

Lord knows the kids of 2050 have to to know life a hundred years before was not all that perfect.

I'm sure they wouldn't. It is sad to think of what we have to put up with in preserving any of our past at all.
