That's OK. I liked it. Could've been cool to throw in some cheesy lounge music in the background!

Speaking of which, after a day that ending in the umpteenth theft of my bike (stupid punks!), I picke dup a couple of those horrible Korean anime knock-off DVDs that are being sold at Wal-Mart currently. Love to show off pics of these, but I plan to talk about them in detail on my blog soon, since I hardly done much with it for some time and I need an excuse to get back in the groove!

In the meanwhile, you can read about them here!

Here's the page of the HK group that is responsible for still hocking these...

Would be cool if someone out here will release "Diatron-5" and "Johnny Destiny" too! :-)

Also, while at the same store (and in the same toy department that offered these Korean retreads, they had a single DVD copy of the rare and classic Toei flick, "The World of Hans Christian Andersen", I just HAD to get it!

And to think, I had to take four buses there and back just to get these (there isn't a Wal-Mart's closer to home), but it was worth it! (would've been neat if they had a copy of Paul Grimault's "The Curious Adventures of Mr. Wonderbird", love to get that as well)

OMG, I gotta see these. I guess I'm making a trip to WalMart.

Not all Korean animation is crap. Although I show the SUPER KID trailer at my show which is wince inducing I'm looking forward to seeing EMPRESS CHUNG:

Thanks for the link, reminds me of a few comics I got in my collection of that genre.

Yes, I can agree somewhat with what you have to say about it, though I find watching these to be a little campy, but not something I don't want the typical 10 year old to watch anyway!

I do have a copy of "Super Kid" as well, and that explans a lot! Don't know why I go for this at all, but it's funny the stuff those Koreans do get away with, at times they're nearly as bad as the Turks!

Not putting off what the Turks have done, their "Star Wars" rip-off's still GOLD!

I picked up the 3 Joeseph Lai Korean anime DVD at WalMart before the OtakuHELL show at AnimeFEST. I showed about half of the PROTECTORS OF UNIVERSE trailer early in the set. And the giant robot is called MAZINGER 7! Wonderfully bad stuff. Get it if you can! Worth the dollar at least.

Joseph Lai is the HK equivilent to Sandy Frank!

Here's a few links to a Japanese page featuring pics from these movies!

I personally couldn't help but make riffs through this one!

(DEFENDERS OF SPACE)

Ditto!

The thrid disc, "Space Thunder Kids" features such ludicrous editing of 4 or 5 films together that could make Carl Macek and the writers of "Voltron" and "Macron 1" proud! Footage from both "Defenders of Space" and "Protectors of Universe" can be seen here, also the opening is taken from "Diatron-5".

Again, I managed to buy all three of these discs at Wal-Mart last week and I was glad to do so. They were worth it! Very often, the background music used is actually lifted from the Japanese originals.

I'm planning to do a little un-bias critique to this soon on my blog, featuring clips to download.
