It's fascinating how far we've come from a simple maze game into the kind of character Pac-Man has become in later years.
Not too mention all the maze games that came out right after Pac-Man's success. Like Lock 'n' Chase and Mouse Trap. And dozens of others I can't remember off the top of my head.
Those were good games! The maze genre in arcade gaming kinda took off thanks to the Pac, if only to give us something else than shooters.
I'm planning to finish up the Pac-Man lovin' very soon with one section about those clones and a few other imitators of that era (excluding the later homebrew efforts of course).
God I loved Mousetrap!
I remember playing both Mouse Trap and Lock 'n' Chaase in the arcade. I know I played a few others but for the life of me I can't remember the names or details.
Mouse Trap was pretty fun.
There was also Ladybug! :-)
It is kinda funny looking back, and thinking how much of a Super Mario-ish character Pac ended up becoming, though I guess it was only fair since he came first.
