Not to be a nerd, this film was originally made in 1945 by Czech animator Karel Zeman and his brother Bořivoj. I think the bit with Santa Claus was added by Castle Films for their release later on.
I can believe it. Santa seems out of place.
Just like Raymond Burr doesn't fit into Godzilla either. :-P
