We had drama and you didn't notice

We had a little to-do this last week with someone who re-posted our entire content.

That has, since that time, been taken care of.

Dan pointed me to the site that was re-posting our stuff. I set to work and put together *.xls spreadsheets that showed the offender and their original source-work. Thursday night, I discovered i had saved the files in *xls (95) format and they were useless. I sent the following email.

The files I sent for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2011 are no good. I see that format removed the links. I'm very tired and I'll recreate those files later.

Nonetheless: ALL of the content on http://theanimedreamland.blogspot.com/ for the years 04, 05, 06, and 07 is stolen from http://animehel.blogspot.com/

2008, 2009, and 2010, they branch out and steal content from http://animesentinel.blogspot.com/ , http://sameera-freewallpapers.blogspot.com/, http://mangamovie-review.blogspot.com/, http://animemangalovers2011.blogspot.com/, and http://free-download-anime.blogspot.com/ .

2008, 2009, and 2010 re-post content from two blogs that have been deleted due to violation of the TOS (any post that starts DOWNLOAD, PC, PS2, or XBOX).

I don't know where the the Spanish language posts were stolen from.

The owner of the offending site, "mistalovers sense" also has a blog on http://animemangatrooper.blogspot.com/ . This tries to redirect to kumplublogger.com . http://dragonxtattoos.blogspot.com, another site run by mistalovers sense has already been removed.

http://celebreasty.blogspot.com/ steals most of its content from http://black-celebrities.blogspot.com/

I am tired and irritable. I know you are doing your job and I appreciate that. You have to make sure that you're not taking down content that has no business being taken down. I can't help but appreciate that you have a system that you must go through, to be legally protected. I understand that's why you need a list of the URLs and not just someone pointing fingers and saying "Make it stop!" If I were on the other end, I would be so happy that is the case.

So. I'll recreate the files, as you need them. It will take a bit for me to do so and I'm worried that someone will go looking for the original content and find themselves on a copy that installs malware to their system. We've notified our readers on what's going on; we even removed the link to the offending site once we realized what it was trying to do (because not all of our readers have a decent browser with protective plug-ins).

I'm disappointed, but I understand how this has to be handled, for your protection. Once I've had some rest, I'll take another stab at it and send you what you legally require. This is just a heads-up for what's going on.
Friday, I recreated the files for 2004-2007 and sent them in *.html format. After about 20 minutes, I receivecd the following email:
In accordance with the DMCA, we have completed processing your
infringement complaint and the content in question no longer appears on
the following URL(s):

http://theanimedreamland.blogspot.com

Please let us know if we can assist you further.
Now, I had sent messages to the other blog owners to let them know what was going on, as well as a link to the form for filing a complaint.

I don't know what took the site down: my passionate and tired missive, the *html files I sent on Friday, or complaints from other blog owners.

Who cares? It's taken care of. We just have to keep our eyes open if it happens again.

It's really sad when people do that to you.
